ITS have an offering of exciting sweet spice combinations to compliment your creations. Using our test bakery, the technical development team have developed seasonally based flavour themes in a variety of applications.

There is no doubt that the traditional Hot Cross Buns will remain a popular fare for Easter but the appeal of non-traditional hot cross buns flavoured with dark, milk and white chocolate is on the rise. We work closely with customers to help develop a close match to their requirements for liquid or powder form of bun spice systems.

In line with the increase in demand for Ethnic breads and Holiday breads which are now eaten all year round, we also offer a range of popular European spices such as those used in Italian Panettone, German Lebkuchen, Armenian Choreg and Dutch Speculaaas.

In addition to this, we have also developed a more creative flavour range using flavoured dried fruits, specifically targeted towards children’s taste buds.

Our Hot Cross Bun market research and consumer studies have shown some interesting findings, such as preferences on spice flavour balance, fruit content and texture for both traditional and non-traditional buns. Raisins and sultanas provide a fantastic natural sweetness and texture in baked products. With Easter products, the addition of flavour infused raisins and sultanas adds a depth of flavour and give a better flavour distribution.
