ITS is pleased to announce the appointment Gail Underwood as the new Chief Flavourist, following with the company’s strategic growth plans.

Gail Underwood began her career in the flavour industry in 1973 as a soft drink technologist, when she was introduced to food flavourings. After that, she did an apprenticeship under a senior flavourist. Underwood worked as a flavourist for 13 years at Barnett and Foster (now Firmenich), and for FDO (Fritzsche Dodge Olcott, now Givaudan) for 6 years. When FDO was acquired by Givaudan, Gail was promoted to Senior Flavourist.

Gail has also worked for Haarman and Reimer (now Symrise) and for Synergy Flavours, where she was Chief Flavourist specialising in flavourings for Dairy and Sports Nutrition. Previous to being appointed by ITS, Gail worked for Fuerst Day Lawson as a Flavour Innovations Director.

Mike Bagshaw, ITS Managing Director and founder said “Bringing Gail into the team will allow ITS to be playing top division in the sector and to make a step up in terms of new flavour development for various applications”.

Gail said, "It is an exciting time to join ITS, especially at this moment of rapid growth for the company into different sectors like Sports Nutrition, Dairy or Beverages. I am delighted to be able to bring my flavour expertise to the team."

ITS would like to extend a warm welcome to Gail.
